Critical thinking and decision-making skills are essential for non-cognitive capabilities for students in the era of the industrial revolution. This is pilot study designed to measure the effect of problem-solving training in school counseling programs to improving students' critical thinking and decision-making skills. The one group pre-post test experimental design applied in this study. This study involved 35 second-grade students of SMA Negeri 4 Singaraja, Bali, Indonesia. Students critical thinking and decision-making skills are measured by 13 items of critical thinking and decision-making scales. The Racked analysis by Rasch Model is conducted to seek the treatment effects for 6-times (55 minutes) counseling session on students' critical thinking and decision-making skills. The results demonstrated that students' critical thinking and decision-making skills is increase in each of the 13 scales used. The effect was consistent for a man and woman participants. This findings show that problem-solving training in counseling programs affects students' critical thinking and decision-making skills.

This is an initial study tried to develop student sharing websites and integrated by guidelines that have justified their acceptability by authorities and potential users of the device. The research adapted from Borg and Gall's research and development stages. The results of the initial assessment by prospective users (counselors and students) indicate that the web student sharing site and this guidebook reach the acceptance criteria on aspects of accuracy, usability, and attractiveness. However, several features related to improving the website peripherals are the main aspects that are considered for promoting the conclusion of this study in the future. The web student sharing sites as academic stress catharsis media for high school students is fit to be checked more extensively.

This study aims to measure the effect of health belief model and self-control on the smoking frequencies in active smokers. We applied the quantitative method with multiple linear regression analysis on this research. We tested the main variable using several instruments, each of which had been adapted and modified. The instruments of the health belief model scale, the self-control scale, and the smoking frequencies scale has good reliability. 141 students who were included in active smokers are is the primary object of this study. The results showed that, simultaneously, there was an influence upon health belief model and self-control on the smoking frequencies. Partially, through the results of the t-test, there is a significant effect between the health belief model on the smoking frequencies, as well as between the self-control variables on the smoking frequencies. However, the influence between health belief model and self-control has a very weak influence based on the results of the coefficient of determination.

This research intends to find out the psychological dynamics of young people on broken home families in SMP Negeri 4 Malang, East Java, Indonesia; which are evaluated on 1) perceptions about their self, 2) perceptions about their family, 3) role in family and friends environment, and 4) reactions to family problems. This research using a phenomenology approach. We selected the subjects using the snowball sampling method. Data collection applied by interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses reduction, display, and verification of data while testing the validity of the data using the checking member design. The results of the study indicate various perceptions of broken home on young people on themselves and their families. The average self-perception is dominated by a sense of inferiority, feels unlucky as others, and also assumes to have the darkest life. Meanwhile, the perception of the family for broken home of young people, among others: family is a selfish, frightening, and unhappy person. Family conditions that are inharmonious also affect young people's behavior; broken home in family and friends. They show maladaptif behavior such as fighting and rant, loner, pleases to hallucinate, and resist. Young people from broken home families also do the Ego Defense Mechanism as a reaction in negotiating with their family issues.

This discussion based on the reality of adolescents behavior which generally contradicts the prevailing values in the norms and practices of the community in Pontianak region, West Kalimantan, Indonesia. Most adolescents did not consider their self-identity and insufficient psychological performance. Pontianak adolescents, indicating their existence and independent from their obligations. In the humanistic existential view emphasizes self-awareness, meaning and purpose of life and responsible freedom. We tried to internalizes the indigenous values of Saprahan including the values of openness (Seanak Sekemanakan), the value of politeness, care (Senaseb Sepenanggungan), the value of togetherness (Seadat Sepusaka, Sepucuk Setali Darah) as a counseling approach based on the indigenous culture of the Pontianak-Malay community to increase awareness of self-identity of adolescents. Cultural values in counseling approach contains self-awareness of students to understand and find the meaning of life according to the moral messages in the indigenous Saprahan values, because these values are a representation of the moral and cultured youth identity.

The national development and government initiatives in realizing educational transformation has made the profession of school counseling and guidance teachers facing a challenging and vulnerable role with stress that affects their well-being. The psychological well-being of school counseling and guidance teachers need to be explored and understood to ensure their services in schools are implemented effectively. The study intends to seek contribution of self-compassion to psychological well-being among school counseling and guidance teachers. The results of previous studies have got that; (a) self-compassion contribute to the psychological well-being of school counseling and guidance teachers; and (b) good psychological well-being of school counseling and guidance teachers can promote the quality of counseling services. The implication of this study explains the demand to develop psychological well-being among Malaysian school counseling and guidance teachers. Proposed follow-up recommendations need to be performed by focusing on quantitative studies focused at further interpretation of this issues.
